Happy Half Term

Thank you to all of our parents who attended parent consultations this week. It has been lovely working in partnership with you in order to provide the best possible education for your child. Your support is appreciated. It has been a very busy and productive half term. Next term will bring much excitement. I’d like to thank Mrs Bullock (Ms Bullock’s mother) for making a backdrop for our Christmas Performances. We can’t wait to put it up in preparation for the festive season!

  • Monday 4th November – Return to School
  • Monday 11th November – Remembrance Assembly 10.45 am (Pupils only)
  • Friday 15th November – Children in need! Wear PJs to School
  • Friday 15th November – Choir to sing in Newport Market for Children in Need
  • Monday 18th November – Fire Station visit to school Y2/Y5

 

PARKING RESPONSIBLY OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL AND NEARBY STREETS

Please be reminded to park responsibly when dropping off and picking up your child. We have been notified of inappropriate parking in Stevenson Court & Street. Please be mindful when parking.  Thank you

 

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club continues next term. Doors will open at 8.20am and close at 8.30am. For safeguarding purposes we don’t accept pupils after 8.30am as the register is closed. Please be aware that pupils who attend breakfast club are required to eat breakfast.

 

Pupil sickness absence

Please can all Parents/Carers make sure they inform school if their child is absent due to sickness through the correct communication channels. You can email the school office on  mountpleasant.primary@newportschools.wales or telephone the school office on 01633 894820. Thank you

 

Show Racism the Red Card

Thank you all for joining in raising awareness and funds to support the initiative ‘Show Racism the Red Card.’ This initiative support our whole school priority being an ‘Anti-Racist Learning Organisation’. Our Pupils have been learning about equality in our assemblies and our classrooms. I’m so proud of our pupils who can demonstrate such values in the daily life of the school.

 

PTA Pumpkin Trail

Huge thanks to the PTA for organising a wonderful Pumpkin Trail this year. A great way to raise funds for school and so much fun had by the pupils. We’ve had some very creative pumpkins this year, the pumpkin designs were amazing!

 

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION-POPPY APPEAL

We are helping the Poppy Appeal by selling a variety of poppy products until Friday 8th November 2024.  All memorabilia a donation.
