PARKING

We have been experiencing problems with inappropriate and dangerous parking outside the school gates. Please be mindful to park responsibly when dropping off and collecting children from school. Please do not park on the zig-zag lines. Thank you in anticipation of your support.

MOUNT PLEASANT CHRISTINGLE

Huge thanks to Bethesda Baptist Church who housed our Christingle Carol Service again this year. The event was totally magical and marked the start of the Christmas period here at Mount Pleasant Primary School. The singing and readings were superb. We really appreciated the wonderful support from our school community. We are extremely grateful to ‘Tesco’ for providing the resources to make the Christingles again this year.    Nadolig Llawen

Coming in January - “Community Voice” – Bassaleg!

This is a fantastic opportunity to indulge and develop your love of singing, whatever your age or singing experience, within a large group of singers.

“Community Voice”, coming initially to Bassaleg, Newport is a choir rehearsing weekly on a Thursday from 6.30 – 7.30 pm in the heart of the community. Perfect as a wind down after work or to start your evening off with a boost of “feel good”.

Running with the “conception to concert in 4 months” model, the first “Community Voice” will operate from St. Basil’s Church in Bassaleg. This is a non-auditioned choir open to all regardless of your singing experience or voice type.

Songs will be learned mostly by ear and repetition although there will be music and words to take away and practice. “Community Voice” choirs will learn a wide range of music ahead of putting on a concert for family and friends.  If you would like to join “Community Voice”, come along on a Thursday starting on January 17th, 2019 at 6.30pm to meet us in St. Basils Church and sing your heart out!  Start the New Year with a burst of song!      Contact me on saldav@newportedu for more details.
